Time for Some Local Action!
Let's Help Get Rank Choice Voting on the November Ballot
Based on the resolution we passed at the 2020 Annual Meeting, LWVD has joined Denver Deserves Democracy (DDD), a coalition of Denver civic and non-profit organizations working to get a ranked choice voting/IRV measure on November's ballot and passed by the voters. LWVD will be attending City Council meetings, contributing action alerts, writing Letters to the Editor, and directly lobbying of city council members. Two recent articles in Axios and Denverite provide good explanations of RCV.
We need a couple of League members to help us with this effort. Want some direct voter service action? Join us in this effort!

Denver City Council Members Flynn, Watson, Alvidrez, Gilmore, and Sawyer are proposing a charter amendment to elect the two at-large council members on separate ballots rather than on a single “vote for two” ballot. You can read more about it on denver.gov here or attend one of 2 community meetings:
