John Lewis National Day of Commemoration and Action

League of Women Voters is cosponsor for this national event. July 17 marks the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s death. On that day, we will come together in events across the country to commemorate his life work to secure voting rights for all people. Join LWVDenver and LWVColorado at the Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park at the Capitol for a march, speakers and a fair. Remember, we need to engage and mobilize 8.5 million voters nationwide to protect and preserve our democracy.
Note: The number 8.5 million is the estimated number of voters it would take to bring about change through nonviolent protest.

Civics Summer School
Before we know it, election season will be upon us. Whether it's the Denver School Board elections, lobbying for Rank Choice Voting, or helping at the polls, a little refresher on the foundations our government is built on will help you make informed decisions this fall.
