Weekly Update

LWV Denver and Good Trouble

We talked voting with and gave out pins to "Good Trouble Lives On" protesters last night. We emphasized that the League has been getting in good trouble for 105 years and heard quite a few people say, "Oh, the League is here, that's good!"

Shortly before passing away in 2020, civil rights activist and United States Representative John Lewis urged Americans to "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America."  Read more about this extraordinary man here.

Remember, we need to engage and mobilize 8.5 million voters nationwide to protect and preserve our democracy.

Rank Choice Voting is One Step Closer to the Ballot

The bill, supported by Sarah Parady and Darrell Watson, advanced out of committee this week. The full Council will decide Aug. 4 whether to send the measure to the November ballot.  Find our resolution and an explainer here.

Mark Your Calendars: Fall Kick-Off

Circle September 16, 2025 for the Fall briefing, in collaboration with the Colorado Social Legislation Committee. Meet with your fellow Leaguers and members of the community, and discuss how the recent Federal funding cuts and Colorado's tight budget will impact vulnerable populations. This will be in-person and Montview Blvd. Presbyterian Church.
