What Can We Do?

Send a Letter to your Representatives:

Use the recent LWV Action Alert:  Tell Congress That Federal Immigration Enforcement Has Gone Too Far
Find it Here

Call Your Representatives -- Here's How:

Here are the members of Congress for Denver:

Representative Diana DeGette – 202-225-4431 (most likely your representative if you live in Denver)
Senator Michael Bennet – 202-224-5852
Senator John Hickenlooper – 202-224-5941

Craft a concise message that identifies yourself, if you are a constituent or not and what you want them to do. You will be speaking for yourself only and not League, but you can use the talking points from League.  A personal connection or story can make it more effective.

Example of the basics:  "Hi, my name is _______ and my zip code is ________.  I am calling to ask you to support/oppose ________.

Contact your representatives even if you think they will reliably vote the way you would like. They are better able to defend their voting record if they can point to support by constituents.  Contact them with positive feedback as well.  Everyone likes to hear that they have done something well.

Make Your Voice Heard by the People Who Represent You!
