League Year Kick-Off Briefing | Our panelists will be Clerk and Recorder Paul Lopez; Martha Tierney, a prominent election law attorney; and Evaristo Gómez from Mi Familia Vota, representing the concerns of immigrant citizens.
We want to dispel rumors and misinformation about the upcoming midterm election process. At the same time, we want to inform our members and the community about fact-based concerns related to the process and/or tallying the outcome of this crucial aspect of our democracy. Much of the "noise" is focused on the mail-in ballot. However, we would like to hear from our speakers about other vulnerabilities and the efforts being made to confront threats of voter suppression, rejecting ballots, etc.

| Get the Scoop on LWV-Supported Amendment 87 and Prop NN
On Tuesday, September 29 at 5:30 p.m., LWVD will hold a virtual briefing to explain and discuss Proposition NN "TABOR Revenue Cap Increase for K-12 Education Measure" and the "Colorado Establish Graduated Income Tax and Dedicate New Revenue to Education, Healthcare, and Childcare" Initiative 195.
The speakers will be Evie Hudak, former CO State Senator and member of the Colorado State Board of Education, and Joshua Mantell, Director of Government Relations for the Bell Policy Center.
Both of these measures will have the support of the Colorado and Denver Leagues. Our positions on adequate funding of education, childcare and healthcare align with these measures. Please attend this virtual event. Look for the link on our website lwvdenver.org.
